Our School and our Community

The Friends of St Martin's PTA

We are a group of parents who work with the school to build community and raise funds.

We run social events including kids’ discos, a colour run, carols, cake sales, Christmas wreath making, a pub quiz, and the summer barbecue. We also have a uniform hub; children grow quickly, and school uniform is expensive. So, we take in pre-loved uniform and offer a service to match it with new owners.

Many of these events help us to provide extras for the school. For example, the WOW Days, where the subjects that your children will learn about are brought to life. We also contribute to larger projects such as the new playground and library revamp.

Everyone has busy lives, so we take an informal approach; meetings are when we need them (typically a couple a term), in the evening and are via Zoom. That way, you can be putting your children to bed or making a meal.

St Martin's Church

St Martin’s Church is a shared Anglican-Methodist church in the centre of Dorking. The fine current building dates from late Victorian times but Christians have worshipped on the site for over 1000 years. We aim to be a place of spiritual refreshment at the heart of the town and, through the adjacent Christian Centre, we are very much a part of the practical life of the whole town community through the wide programme of activities taking place there. Services involving the whole school take place in the church every term.

To contact any of the team please go via our Administrator, Vicki Judd on 01306 884229 or email her at  www.stmartinsdorkingchurchoffice@gmail.com">www.stmartinsdorkingchurchoffice@gmail.com. For more information please go to our website.

St Martin's Prayer Group

St Martin’s prayer group meets on the first Monday of each month, in the reception area of the school. They would LOVE you to join them.
